Mylan Launches Three Generic Drugs In Canada

Mylan said Thursday it is starting sales in Canada of three generic products indicated in the treatment of HIV for certain patients. Mylan said it received final approval from Health Canada for Mylan-Emtricitabine/Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate, a generic alternative to Truvada; and also for Mylan-Efavirenz/Emtricitabine/Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate, a generic alternative to Atripla; and for Mylan-Tenofovir Disoproxil, a generic alternative to Viread.

Mylan said more than 40% of people worldwide being treated for HIV/AIDS with an antiretroviral depend on a Mylan product, and that there are about 37 million people globally are living with HIV/AIDS.
